    Steven Beeghly assists insurance and reinsurance companies worldwide and locally in the Pacific Northwest, along with producers and entities needing help with their corporate insurance, risk management and regulatory needs. Mr. Beeghly is involved in many commercial insurance and reinsurance matters, along with captive insurance, risk retention groups, self-insurance, purchasing groups, service contract & warranty, and insurance-related transactions for a variety of clients including public, private, and municipal entities for diverse risks from professional liability to worker’s compensation coverage.

    Highlights of Mr. Beeghly’s experience includes officer and counsel at a large independent insurance brokerage, associate attorney at a large Seattle law firm, and attorney for Allianz and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company representing Fireman’s Fund and Allianz member companies in a wide range of commercial insurance matters, including alternative risk transfer. Highlights of Mr. Beeghly’s operational and executive experience include formerly the Chief Executive Officer of a captive reinsurer and previously independent Director and a shareholder of the holding company of a worker’s compensation insurance company.

    Mr. Beeghly currently serves as counsel to numerous insurance companies, insurance brokerages, entities participating in insurance, self-insurance and captive insurance arrangements, and is outside insurance general counsel to insurance companies, including for example a physicians professional liability insurer, a service contract and warranty company for technology, multiple risk purchasing groups, and a start-up commercial insurance company with broad licenses across the country that he has assisted with becoming licensed, licenses expanded, operational, and profitable.

  • Mr. Beeghly authors articles and presents regularly regarding insurance, reinsurance and alternative risk transfer topics. Mr. Beeghly has presented at a number of insurance conferences/meetings, including those in Cayman Islands, Montana, Nevada, Canadian Captive Insurance Association (British Columbia), Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, & 2017), American Bar Association continuing education seminar (2012 on self-procurement law), Washington State chapter of RIMS and invited speaker on cross-border insurance issues for large group of insurance brokerages. Mr. Beeghly is privileged to be the Special Counsel to the Insurance Board & Commissioner for the Federated States of Micronesia.

    Insurance industry involvement includes (past) member of Board of Directors of the Nevada Captive Insurance Association (2006 – 2010), the Association of Insurance Compliance Professionals, current member of the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys, and current member of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel (www.FORC.org) (Board Member).

    Mr. Beeghly is currently Member of Board of Advisors of InsuraGuest Technologies, Inc. (TSGX: ISGI.V), an insurtech company (since 2020). Since 2011

    Mr. Beeghly has had the distinct honor of being Special Counsel and Advisor to the Insurance Board and Insurance Commissioner of the Federated States of Micronesia since January, 2012.
